​​Strong emotions can lead to tension, aggression and defensive behaviour. Learn how to meet the challenge of high-conflict behaviour – including from self-represented litigants – and build strategies to restore calm and authority.  ​ 

​​This training will equip you with the skills to deal with challenging court and tribunal-room interactions by providing you with facilitation and conflict management techniques through skills-based exercises.  

​With insights about communication, neuroscience and typologies of high-conflict personalities, you will learn how to:   

  • ​respond to heightened emotions and atypical appearances and response patterns  
  • ​set expectations and enforce boundaries in your court or tribunal room  
  • ​manage your own emotions and maintain an ordered environment   
  • ​de-escalate charged situations.

Simon Wood

Simon is the Director and Founder of Seedling Leadership. He has been helping organisations and individuals build their leadership, sales, and customer service strength for nearly twenty years. Proven results, a client focus, and a love of learning enables him to deliver tailored, nuanced, and effective end-to-end solutions, from consultation, facilitation, and design through to delivering training and coaching. Simon’s background in psychology and coaching enables him to think critically and to design learning programs based on evidence; his performance background enables him to communicate persuasively and deliver strongly in the room; and his business experience enables him to adapt to different contexts quickly.

Angela Twigg

Angela is a highly skilled facilitator, trainer, actor, and coach with over 17 years of experience in adult learning and 20 years in theatre and television. She is passionate about helping organisational leaders reach their full potential through self-awareness and effective communication. Angela has a deep understanding of how to influence an audience, whether in a boardroom, meeting room, or in front of a camera. Her training approach focuses on presence, control, engagement, authenticity, and the ability to tailor messages to the audience. Angela has also worked with many organisations as a professional actor and role player, using various workshop situations to help participants develop their leadership skills.
