Research shows that integrated directions promote jury comprehension – and reduce the time taken to reach a decision.

But the Victorian Law Reform Commission’s report on Improving the Justice System Response to Sexual Offences showed that integrated directions are not used as often as they could be.

In collaboration with the County Court, the College is developing new integrated jury directions for sexual offence trials – and delivering training to encourage their use.

In this introductory seminar, you will learn:

  • the difference between traditional and integrated directions
  • the benefits of integrated directions
  • how to adapt model-integrated directions.
