Develop knowledge and confidence in hearing bail applications involving Aboriginal people in this expert-led discussion of imminent legislative changes to the Bail Act 1977 s 3A.

The session will: 

  • explore the expansion of the mandatory considerations in section 3A of the Bail Act
  • equip bail decision makers to identify broader systemic factors that drive inequality and factors that make Aboriginal people particularly vulnerable in custody

These sessions have been designed with input from the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service.
