Get ready for a week of celebration! NAIDOC Week has arrived, running from 2nd to 9th July, providing a wonderful opportunity to recognise and appreciate the rich histories, diverse cultures, and remarkable achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This year's theme, 'For Our Elders', celebrates the crucial role of Elders as cultural knowledge holders, storytellers, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, and hard workers in their communities.

Throughout Victoria, a multitude of exciting community events await, encompassing music, theatre, art, and important issues. These events serve as a powerful way to preserve and empower language, culture, and identity. If you're eager to get involved and learn more, we recommend checking out the events page on Deadly Western Connections, visiting the official NAIDOC Week website or subscribing to the Torch newsletter, the Koori Mail, or the Arts Centre Melbourne.
