Monash University will host the launch of a groundbreaking collection of speeches, lectures, and interviews by Professor the Honourable Marilyn Warren AC KC, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

The landmark collection, 'Doing Law and Justice - The Words of a Chief Justice', comprises around 200 speeches, lectures, and interviews given by Professor Warren during her tenure as Chief Justice from 2003 to 2017. It marks the first time a Chief Justice has ever donated a collection of this nature to any university.

As Chief Justice, Professor Warren witnessed significant changes in the functioning of the judiciary, and her words shed light on various aspects of court processes, sentencing, gender, technology, and much more.

By donating the collection to Monash University, Professor Warren aims to assist law students, legal scholars, members of the judiciary, and the wider community in better understanding the fundamental importance of courts and the rule of law to the preservation of a democratic society.

The event, scheduled for Thursday 13th April will start at 6.00 pm (arrivals at 5.30 pm), and attendees are requested to wear business attire.

The venue for the launch event will be the Sir Louis Matheson Library located at 40 Exhibition Walk, in Monash University's Clayton Campus.

Please RSVP here by Friday 31 March to secure your attendance.
