Background

The 2024 Review of Harassment in the Legal Profession in South Australia is being undertaken by the Commissioner for Equal Opportunity Jodeen Carney.

This follows and was one of the 16 recommendations from the 2021 review.

The 2024 review will examine the effectiveness of the laws, policies, structures and complaint mechanisms relating to harassment, including sexual harassment, in the South Australian legal profession.

Feedback will show the extent of change over the past 3 years.

Submissions closed

People were invited to contribute to the review by completing an anonymous online survey or by making a written submission.

The survey and submissions closed at 11.59pm, Sunday 31 March 2024.

Final report

The review team will now be assessing all survey results and submissions.

A final report will be prepared and provided to the Attorney-General, with an estimated completion date of 30 June 2024.
